Born and Raised...
Born and raised in the coastal farming community of Bay City, TX, Brett’s creative side began to surface at an early age, but it wasn’t until he borrowed a high school friend’s old pawn shop acoustic guitar that his passion for creating music started to form.
The First Few Songs...
While attending Texas A&M, Brett finished writing his first few songs and started to cut his teeth playing the local bars on the College Station music scene.
Fast forward two years...
The young songwriter began to amass a lively local following, so he decided to take his newly formed band out on the road, where they entertained the patrons of dance halls, festivals, dives, and honky tonks all across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Over the course of the next 4 years, Brett was able to hone his live performance by studying several artists and quintessential bands he looked up to as a singer, songwriter, and musician. He was fortunate enough to share the stage with Randy Rogers Band, Whiskey Myers, and Josh Abbott Band to name a few.
The Hiatus...
When momentum stalled and his music career fell on tough times, Brett’s passion for touring started to fade. The tough decision to take an indefinite hiatus from music soon became reality.
The Seeds of Creativity...
After the sting of his musical failures began to fade and the stranglehold of life in corporate America began to take its toll, Brett found himself needing to find an escape. The seeds of creativity could no longer remain dormant. Brett’s love for the craft of making music was slowly rekindled and he began to work diligently at sharpening his songwriting skills over the next several years.
The Reset Button...
Fast forward 8 more years...
Brett was newly married, had started his own business, had just settled into a new house, and had begun recording what is now his newest EP, which was on schedule to be released in early 2018.
But things did not go as planned.
Following a precautionary doctors visit for some unexplainable symptoms, Brett unexpectedly found out he needed to have major brain surgery. He found himself having to put his new music and entire life on hold to address his health.
Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and after 6 months of recovery, he felt like he was finally up to the task of finishing up the new music and getting it out to the world.
“Going through a major health scare like that can change you. It definitely changed me for the better and I view life a bit differently now. I’m much more of a glass half full kind of person than I used to be. Also, this may sound strange, but during my recovery, I felt like the surgery was God’s way of letting me hit "the reset button” for my life, so I don’t want to take that for granted.”

The Next Chapter...
Brett’s new 5 song EP, “Roots – Volume 1”, is the first installment of what will eventually become his first studio album in over 10 years.
His coastal upbringing and easygoing attitude have seeped into every song, and gives the project a certain “vibe” that is sure to put you in a good mood after listening. The songs boast simple, smooth, yet infectious melodies that will have you singing and humming along right away.
“These songs make you want to turn it up and toss one back.”
